Master Instructor Gary Brown
I began boxing in 1951 and started studying Martial Arts in 1957 in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio. It was there that I earned my first black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
I trained and studied during a tour in Vietnam in 1970 with the Korean Rock Unit. I returned to Columbus and began teaching children boxing and Martial Arts at the Ohio Youth Commission. I also taught for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and was an executive member of the Ohio Amateur Athletic Union’s boxing commission.
I was a professional boxer from 1974-1977 with an overall record of 32-2-0. I trained Bill Douglas, father of Buster Douglas- who held the World Heavyweight Boxing Title.
I came to Georgia in 1979 where I opened my studio, Eagle Karate and Boxing. I have trained nine world champions in full contact karate and boxing. After over forty five years in Martial Arts, I hold several black belts and am declared a recognized Master in several of these styles and systems. I am the originator and Master Instructor of the Eagle Jiu-Jitsu fighting system which combines several martial arts (Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, Aikido, Hapkido, Sambo, Wrestling, Judo, etc.) into one complete system which is designed for realistic and practical use in combat/law-enforcement situations, self-defense, and sport competition.
I have (and currently do) training for various law enforcement agencies such as the GBI, GSP, and other city and county agencies using my patented Flood System for law enforcement.

Richard Whirley
Instructor, owner, and developer of Train Fight Win. “Shodan” (First Degree Black-Belt) under Master Instructor Gary Brown.
I began training under Gary Brown in November of 1998. Originally, I wanted to focus on Jiu-Jitsu, and no-gi grappling instantly became my favorite competition style. To this day, I love submission grappling without the gi. During the time that I was first learning how to grapple, I quickly became interested in the striking arts and began learning Mr. Brown’s style of Muay Thai and modified K-1. This transitioned into the training for Mixed Martial Arts (known as No Holds Barred in those days) which became the primary focus of my training for the remainder of my time with Mr. Brown (including now). I have competed in numerous tournaments around the southeast ranging from boxing matches and pancrase events to gi and no-gi grappling.
During my 9+ years of training under Mr. Brown, he has become a large mentor in my life. He has gone out of his way on countless occasions for me, and has shaped my life more outside of the ring than inside it. He is largely to credit for much of the success that I have experienced in my fighting life as well as in my personal life and career. Thank you for everything, Mr. Brown.
Currently, I no longer compete due to a few injuries and a lack of training time. My current profession requires that I travel a lot, and I cannot devote the necessary training time needed to actively compete.
